John E. Marriott

John E. Marriott is one of Canada’s premier professional wildlife and nature photographers, with images published worldwide in magazines such as National Geographic Adventure, Backpacker, Canadian Geographic, McLean’s, and Reader’s Digest.  His stock photography is represented internationally by Getty Images, Corbis, and All Canada Photos.

In 2010 John was named a contributing editor for wildlife photography for Outdoor Photography Canada magazine.

John’s first two coffee table books, Banff & Lake Louise: Images of Banff National Park (JEM Photography, 2007), and Wildlife of the Canadian Rockies: A Glimpse at Life on the Wild Side (JEM Photography, 2008) are Canadian bestsellers.  He recently released The Canadian Rockies: Banff, Jasper & Beyond (JEM Photography, 2009) in two sizes, and is also the author/photographer of the highly successful wildlife guidebook Central Rockies Mammals (Luminous Compositions, 1997, second edition 2005).

In 2010, he launched Canadian Wildlife Photography Tours, featuring wildlife photo adventures, workshops, and expeditions to out-of-the-way Canadian locales.

John prides himself on photographing wilderness scenes and wild, free-roaming animals in their natural habitats.

John lives in Canmore, Alberta, just outside of Banff National Park
